Kinondo Kwetu Trust Fund

Kinondo Kwetu trust funds owns and sponsors Kinondo Kwetu Hospital, with the mission to save lives and improve the quality of life for the people in Kinondo villages.

Kindondo Trust Fund established the facility in November 2008 as a clinic to serve the local Kindondo village, leading to the gradual growth into a Level 4 hospital, now able to perform minor and major surgeries .

in the year 2008, there was no affordable health care available for the villagers in Kinondo. There were children that were deaf due to untreated and repeated ear infections. Many children were plagued by the jigger parasite and the malaria mortality rate was high. Babies were delivered in primitive homes with the support of traditional birth attendants with no medical education. The mortality among mothers and babies was high. People suffering from malaria, HIV, TB and diabetes did not get any proper treatment.

The trust also supports Kinondo Primary School in its plight to support education and healthcare .

Kinondo Kwetu trust fund has three main activities:

- to run a health center to cater for quality health services for the people in Kinondo
- to sponsor studies for children whose parents cannot afford to pay
- to support the local primary school

Its a dream come true of a Swedish family, who came to southern Kenya in 2005, to open Kinondo Kwetu Hotel, and saw that the people in the nearby villages did not have any basic health care and that the state-run primary school was in a very bad state. No child continued to high school studies, because their parents could not afford to pay for their schooling.
That is why they started Kinondo Kwetu trust fund.

The fund is financed by donations from foundations and private persons.
