Philis Kerubo Orero. Counselor at Kinondo Kwetu Health Services As a HIV testing service provider (HTS), Philis makes sure that HIV positive clients get access to treatment. One very important aspect of her work is to provide for family testing, in order to prevent transmission and make sure partners and children of HIV infected persons get tested and receive care, if positive.
Since 2008, Kinondo Kwetu Health Services with support from Kinondo Kwetu Trust Fund and its Partners has given, the once simple Clinic a gradual ,yet satisfactory growth into Level 4 medical facility , with International interaction and outlook in Research , Technology ,Equipment and skillset , Kinondo Kwetu Health Facility has had interactions with the following
Staff from Kinondo Kwetu Medical center regularly make outreaches to fight jiggers and other parasites among school going children.
The jigger parasite enters the feet, and sometimes also the hands, under the nails. The parasite is removed mechanically and shoes are given to prevent new attacks from the parasites.
The jiggers campaign was a part of the project Improved health, reduced infant and maternal mortality and reduced disease burden among school going children in Kinondo, that was funded by H & B Agerup foundation.

Kinondo Kwetu hospital opened its surgical room just before the Covid-19 caused a lockdown of the country, causing us difficulties to get blood for the operations. So CEO Harrison Kaingu has now arranged for an own blood central, where staff and volunteers give blood. Big thanks to them!
